Geiger Experiments
I bought some geiger tubes from eBay and got them working with an esp32.
The circuit is very simply:
- a boost converter with the switchign driven by PWM
- a super-fast diode and a high voltage capacitor
- voltage for feedback measured with some many-megaohm voltage divider
- tube pulses amplified by a darlington pair
I later turned this into a permanent installation for radiation monitoring, and a portable geiger counter (click through the article tags)
One of the attached files is an audio clip of the clicks the tube makes (on a piezo speaker).
